New to Countly - need some help :-)
Hi.
we are making poc to Countly - the Community Edition.
I encounter few issues, will be very happy to get some help:
- Currently I am making the PoC by adding sessions/events directly - by entering URLs into the browser.
- what is the device_id meaning? how can determine it?
- I can see that I can add sessions and events but I cannot add the user details. for example in the URL
the contains the "events" I also add the user details part: ...&user_details={...}, but I only see the events
that I have added and I cannot see the user details in my on-premise portal.
what am I doing wrong? will appreciate any help!
Thanks
Hagai

Hello
device_id is whatever you want to use to identify your users. Could be your internal user ID, could be email, or if you are using official SDK, it can be a randomly generated value, if you don't have anything you want to provide yourself.
And user_details is enterprise only feature. So not available in Community Edition
Thank you very much!!
Hi
I tried the enterprise.
added some event with the user_details.
I can see the events. I can see the user, but I see that user has no related events.
what am I doing wrong?
thanks

Hello,
events were generated after migrating/installing enterprise edition?
Also in User profiles, under each user there is also a period selector, so make sure the selected period is where you supposed to see your events, as in when the happened.
Other than that, if it is a test, instance, maybe posting some screenshots could help us understand better whats going on, where you see events and where you expect to see them.
hi

Ok, so you see events under Events section?
But they are not under User profiles?
Did your user had any session before?
Are there sessions and evens in Drill section?
thanks
after open a session before sending the events, I can see now the user related events.
