Use push notifications on android without GCM or FCM

we currently implementing countly in our android app. As I reached the step to setting up push notifications I had to stop cause as I understand the doc correctly the push notifications are based on GCM or FCM. Is that correct? Unfortunately we can't use those services cause of some legally reasons.

Can we use countly's notifications on andorid without using GCM or FCM? If yes how should I setup the code? I read through the doc but can't find anything or am I blind?

Thank you in advance

  • Hi Stephan - you are right, Countly -just like other push notification services- relies on FCM and GCM (now being retired).
