Maximum limit of unique values can't be changed

I'm always seeing 

Maximum limit of unique values (1000) in current event segmentation "days" has been reached. Limit can be adjusted.

But no matter what I change the values to within the linked settings section, the message doesn't disappear and also not reflect the new setting

     Hi Bernhard,

    Could you please try to increase that value on App settings (selecting the specific App)?

    You can find these settings on Top Cog > Applications
