Passing customer values in an Event (iOS/Android)

Hello, I'm new to countly so forgive me if I'm missing something.  I want to pass customer entered values that are used in an event.  For example, if I have an event for a customer search, play a video and such I want to pass the search text or what video was played to countly so we can possibly see what the top search text was or top video played.  I don't think segmentation would be correct or even possible but correct me if I'm wrong.  Is there anywhere I can find documentation or examples on such an event or some other way that could work for us?

Thank you.

Hi Charles, no worries. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you have.

About this one, you should definitively go with segmentation, as it will be the only way you will be able to capture such data. You can also, refer to this (https//support.count.ly/hc/en-us/articles/360037093532-Events) article, it will help you with this, and also give you a solid idea of how to deal with Events.
