Comparing several events

I'm writing a report where I need to compare the number of monthly users and times of several similar events, News_ArticleRead, Ideas_ArticleRead, Groups_ArticleRead, etc.

The Event Compare feature seems to only allow comparison of times, not users.

So what is the best way of doing this? Running a drill for each event and merging them all in Excel?

    Hi Daryl! You can use the following example to achieve your goal:

    1- Create a drill query using event datatype;
    2- Select the event you want to query;
    3- Run the query the way it is;
    4- Click on actions and save it to Report Manager.
    5- Repeat the process for up to 4 events you want to compare.
    6- Go to custom dashboards (or create a new one)
    7- Click on add a widget -> Drill
    8- Select the App you created the report;
    9- Select the reports you created;
    10- On metrics, select User.
    11- Final result:

  • Is there any way to export that data? Also, I'm trying to compare 7 events, possibly more later.

  • Hi Daryl , about your first question:

    Is there any way to export that data? Also, I'm trying to compare 7 events, possibly more later.

    Currently, it's not possible to compare more than 4 reports, due to performance impacts; and it's also not possible to export reports from widgets. But you can export it by exporting the query itself and using an external software of your preference.

    Now, regarding your second question:

    Or is there any way to show User and Times in the Event Compare feature?

    We don't have that functionality also due to performance impacts.

    Despite that, I have let Mariana, your Account Manager know about your questions, and she'll get in touch with you. So, if you think that we should add these features to our app she can open a Feature Request for you.
